Two Miles High is the newest release from The Moves Collective, produced by Grammy Award Winner, Alan Sanderson at Pacific Beat Recording in San Diego, California. Having worked with groups like The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Rusted Root and Elton John, Sanderson's contribution in recording this eclectic band yielded a powerful yet rootsy sound that meshed wonderfully, with the tight, crisp and hard hitting production at Pacific Beat Studios.
'Two Miles High' along with our first full length album, 'Yonder Blue' is available for digital download here and you can also find both releases on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Google Play and more!
" 'Two Miles High' would fit perfectly on an indie-folk playlist featuring Of Monsters and Men or Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros. With songs built on multi-part harmony and emotional sincerity, The Moves Collective are polished. They aren't redefining folk rock on this EP, but when you have songs like 'Elizabeth' and 'Don't Waste Another Day', there's no need to. "

One day a little bird whispered in our ear, "...smile, my friends - the new Moves record is near..."
Last Performance: 2/26/16 @ UCSD's The Loft
We tore the roof off The Loft with The Moves Dead Set - and it was truly a spectacle of a show. The band steered the audience head first into the fiercely psychedelic, highly eclectic Grateful Dead repertoire, patiently jamming into original Moves compositions - like the opening stanza of "Shakedown Street" > "Shade". Capping off the night with a fiery 'Turn On Your Lovelight' led by our very own Aquilino Soriano, this show was an absolutely lifted experience for everyone.
Lighten up your day with this video from our last performance at UCSD's The Loft!

The Moves Collective
Performing Jamgrass-Inspired Gyspy-Folk and Grateful Dead acoustic favorites, The Moves Collective features:
Rhythm Rose Turner
The Dark Matter Turtles:
When UCSD graduate students Ashley Juavinett (guitar/vocals), Ethan McBride (trumpet), Miren Edelstein (violin) and Landon Klein (cajon) aren't studying brains, they can be found moonlighting as a soul/acoustic/pop/funk band. In addition to performing original songs (written by Ashley), they have also been known to cover an extensive variety of musical genres. Since forming in June 2014, the group has played shows at numerous San Diego venues including the Loft @ UCSD, House of Blues, Bella Vista Social Club and Caffe, Ocean Beach Playhouse, Wine Lover, South Park Abbey, Java Joe's Coffee Shop, The Birch Aquarium and The Salk Institute.
